The Gates

After an evening of moderate boozing with Eric, Karen, and a few other folk in town, I got up at 6am (!!) to check out The Gates with Arielle, Elise, and Anya. We arrived just after sunrise when the saffron (?) fabric is at its most vibrant.

As we were walking in, we came across a man walking his dog. Elise asked the dog what he thought of the gates, at which point he urinated on one of the gates themselves. Fair enough, but I thought they were pretty spectacular.

Elise shot a video of Anya's interpretive dance in response to The Gates entitled, "Christo, c'est moi!" I'll see if I can score a copy from Elise.

This is what P2P looks like

My coworker Terry pointed me to Bits on Wheels which is a very nice BitTorrent client for OS X that has a very nice visualization tool.

I created a wee movie of it. This is what Peer-To-Peer looks like. The cube at the center is me. The red cubes are people that I'm just downloading from, the blue cubes are people that I'm downloading from and uploading to. Those little boxes moving between the cubes are pieces of files that we're sending to one another. Neato!
