For you photo fiends out

For you photo fiends out there, I posted some pictures of our trip to Brazil in the gallery. Salvador ending up not being all we'd hoped it to be, but we're guessing that with the right guide it would've become exactly what we were looking for - . In any case, we weren't really in the mood for city anyway... plenty of that here in the states. So we made our way to an island a couple hours south of Salvador called Morro do Sao Paolo. Slightly more touristy than Imbassai, but beautiful nonetheless. It was indeed a classic beach vacation.

Brazil has been good to

Brazil has been good to us so far. Just arrived in Salvador after spending two days further north in a rural town on the coast called Imbassai. The people there must not entertain the concept of a physical place called paradise because they live there. We stayed at Entre as Aquas (Between the Waters) aptly named as it sits between the atlantic and a quietly meandering river. The bars, barracas, on the river side of the beach are not on the water, they´re *in* the water. No one speaks English, but thankfully Arielle can communicate pretty well with a masacred version of Spanish, we call it Sportuguese.

Arriving in Salvador proper made us wish we had stayed in Imbassai for at least another day, but having just gotten something to eat last night in the old city, Pelourinho, it seems there is a lot to explore. And if the good things people have told us about Salvador are true, we´ll smack ourselves for not coming sooner.
