I feel like I've beenI feel like I've been driving myself a bit mad recently with work, fire, drumming, fixing other people's computers, etc., etc. So, I'm going to "get away from it all" for an evening in Jersey watching Orange County with Mike Eilliott.

Well, I think the iBookWell, I think the iBook is accounted for. My fellow fire freak, Dori has decided to adopt my baby as I take on the role of Dad for a sleeker faster kid. You gotta have cool kids.

Ah there were some problemsAh there were some problems with my Blogger setup. That's why you may have been seeing old content. Garrett Walker was in town this weekend - a nice long one at that. Multiple goings on with multiple peoples made for a pretty damn decent time. No sign of Mike Elliott to speak of, unfortunately. Working the docks in Camden he says. Who does he think he is, Brando?

geek update: I installed debiangeek update: I installed debian on our firewall at home which was an absolute breeze and hopefully tightens up security a bit. If anyone's interested in attempting to crack it, let me know and I'll give you the ip as I don't have dynamic dns setup yet. non-geek update: Time to start drum lessons again. WooHoo! Oh, and I threw up some pictures I took a while ago. This is the little sleeve I made for my ibook because it was getting all scratched in my bag. Now I need a bumper sticker : "Real men sew."

An eventful little weekend itAn eventful little weekend it was. Friday night was airport at lunatarium for which I fulfilled my duties as ground control. I was amazed at how many people showed for an ambient party, although I did have a few people approach me and ask, "Is the music going to be like this all night?" There was a fire on the 6th floor around 2:30am at which point the firemen came and decided to see if the lunatarium (9th floor) was at risk. They left seemingly content, but the sheriffs showed up around 4am and decided everyone had to leave. And it turns out the guys who run the lunatarium don't exactly have a liquor license so it's fine time for those boys, and time for us fire people to look for a new venue to spin fire. yuck. Saturday, Jen and I celebrated our close birthdays with a birthday party at my apartment with lots of tasty foodstuffs and drinkstuffs. Thanks for coming to everyone who came. And POOHPOOH to those who didn't! And Sunday had me cleaning up our firewall at home as someone cracked it and installed a nasty rootkit with multiple backdoors. There's a handy utility to check for the installation of rootkits called chkrootkit. I'll be reinstalling the box using easy-to-update debian instead of the hard-to-update redhat installation that's currently installed.

Happy birthday to me, happyHappy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday dear alex, happy birthday to me. Is that not the dumbest song you've ever heard? 25 and feeling younger than ever - exit adolescence, enter primetime manhood. Oh yes.

So, I did a littleSo, I did a little reorganization of the site. Nothing serious, but as you can see I flip flopped the position of the navigation boxes. I also revamped the gallery and added some pics from the New Years' party. Enjoy!

Back in work once againBack in work once again after a glorious two week vacazionne in Pittsburgh, NYC for New Years, and snowboarding in VT. I really couldn't have asked for anything more... well maybe a few more feet of powder in VT, but who's complaining? Kasima took photos of the New Years party, so I'll be posting those shortly. Happy y2k2!
