Here I am at the

Here I am at the public library in Salt Lake City, UT. Got in last night after a flight on jetBlue, the *fruitiest* airline I have ever experienced. Not to say that's a bad thing - "... In the event of loss of Oxygen, a mask will drop down from the lovely overhead compartment. Pull the mask towards yourself and breeeeaaaathe normally..." Trying to find some maps of Grand Teton National Park and see if we can't get some climbing permits.

I received an email from

I received an email from my friend Brendan, with whom I will be bosom buddies as we swoop through the Utah canyons, Nevada desert, and lesser know cities on the California coast (San Francisco - ever hear of that one?) I was thinking this would be an invgorating hike through the mountains : "...the Utah canyons are perfect places for lying around all day, getting stoned and swimming in natural pools. Otherwise, there is plenty of room en mi auto for any pornography and firearms which you might wish to provide for our journey. I am hearing perverted and disturbing things about this festival Alex, I can't wait." Apparently not.

Finally picked up my BurningMan

Finally picked up my BurningMan tickets last night from Thessy, a fellow fire spinner. She had some spare tickets left over that she was selling for $145 each - much better than the current $200 retail price. I leave a week from today - Kuckoo! In between now and then I'll be stocking up on supplies and working on an OS X blogger tool now that Evan has released the XML-RPC interface to blogger. Nifty!

Oopah, it's been a while

Oopah, it's been a while since the last post. I was out last night with some peeps from the FlambeVolupte fire performers getting in some fire poi practice before Burning Man. It was great fun, and I even managed to whack myself upside the head with a flaming poi offering up wafts of that lovely burnt hair fragrance. On the spondooliks front, I still have to post some pictures from Assateague and other random stuff, and apart from being busy, I've been delayed by playing with a new photo management tool, iView MediaPro for OS X. It's pretty nippy and it can generate html galleries based on customizable templates. Could be the first piece of shareware that I actually shell out cash for :)
