MayDay MayDay! Mayday at Tompkins

MayDay MayDay! Mayday at Tompkins Square Park was alright this year - I think I arrived a little late. The good music ended as Adam and I arrived, and the spazzy NY hard tech commenced. In any case it was a chance to spin poi on a glorious sunny spring day.

And I've asked myself twice today, why is it that abbreviated is such a long word?

Time for a reallife update.

Time for a reallife update. This weekend has been full of nice little social activities - a good offset to my work filled week.

On Friday I went to a gathering to see Elliott Piatetsky off on his adventures around the world. He is taking a six month "sabatical" from Sapient to check out the better part of Asia. Sounds like a fine idea to me, and I must admit a bit of jealousy was involved :) Merav and I then headed out to Brooklyn with Adam and his ex-ex-ad infinitum-girlfriend, Lindsay (who is a glorified extra in the upcoming relase of Spider-Man). It was supposed to be a play/performance piece but turned out to be some sort of Andy Warhol throwback party complete with a nitrous tank and fake LSD. We left shortly after we arrived.

Saturday evening started at Merav's boss' son's 1 year birthday party. Lots of little kids running around eating pizza and middle eastern food. Needless to say I felt just a little out of place but had fun anyway. We then found our way up to the top of the world trade center to the Windows of the World, the "Greatest Bar in The World." Nice view - had a gimlet like my new hero, Philip Marlowe. Then the swing dancing started so we left and caught Traffic at the local theatre which was well received by all parties.

And now, after much procastination, I worketh.

Local farts need air In

Local farts need air

In a bizarre case of heavy partying, a group of local farts are in desparate need of air tonite. The host of the party, Arty Farty, claims that, indeed, "all the farts were there." Several revellers have reported that a fellow partier, Tooty Fruity, let a "beauty" which is believed to be the cause of the mad scramble.
