Good Monday to you. You

Good Monday to you. You may have erupted with excitement as you noticed that there's been an addition to the navigation bar to the left here. The "code" section will eventually contain anything programming oriented that I pull out of my bunghole, but for now it serves as a direct link to apron, an ascii mpeg player that I've recently smacked together. It's pretty basic and in the early stages of development - but it's usable on most linux boxen. Enjoy it, if you can.

Seems to me that The

Seems to me that The New York Times is guilty of a little product placement. This quote comes from its article on the recently arrested spy Robert Hanssen:

"He told the Russians that he needed a faster and more secure means of communicating with them, perhaps with a new Palm VII organizer with wireless Internet capability. "

They could've at least linked "Palm VII" to bestbuy.com or something. And it looks like he would've been caught anyhow given the supreme lack of security that the Palm VII sports :)

Caveat Emptor: The motion picture

Caveat Emptor: The motion picture "Hannibal" has absolutely NOTHING to do with the guy from the A-Team.

Back to work again today

Back to work again today after a fun filled weekend. Friday night consisted of a birthday party for Aliya, an old Sapient friend from the days of DC. Happy 23rd birthday Aliya! Then, I just missed Brian's show at Tonic. He plays live sets with a Palm Pilot - 100% pure geek satisfaction - check out his software. Saturday night consisted of a trip to Brooklyn to check out Blackkat's party, ChopShop. Despite the fact that we didn't get in until 3am, a wicked time was had by all. Thankfully it wasn't a single genre gig, but spanned several of the ever-multiplying electronic genres. Not to mention, the presence of fire twirlers... I didn't bring my fire poi, so I can't wait to get back into the swing of things this spring. Keep an eye out for their future parties if you're in NYC. Riveting, isn't it John?

I just wanted to take

I just wanted to take a few moments to talk about a recent musical rediscovery of mine. I started listening to Ween many moons ago during my hazy high school days (daze?). I mostly spending time with "Pure Guava" - cruising the South HIlls Village mall parking lot in the Honda with the boyz. I spent a little time with "God Ween Satan", but not enough time aparrently. So you guessed it, I heartily recommend "God Ween Satan" as an album that delights as much as it astounds because, after all, these guys come from New Jersey! I particularly enjoy Don't Laugh, Nicole, and L.M.L.Y.P. Find it on Napster, or for those of you who couldn't possibly STEAL, buy it for yourself - it has a grand cover!
